The Frisco StarFest, sponsored by the Texas Astronomical Society of Dallas has resumed now that the COVID pandemic has abated. It takes place on the 2nd Saturday of each month if the weather allows. This is a free event -- you don't need money, a telescope or anything but curiosity.
We start shortly after sundown; this time changes, of course, throughout the year. In the winter we tend to start on time. In the summer we try to arrive early and attempt to do some solar observing. It's catch-as-catch-can.
