The Fediverse???

So maybe you've heard of this crazy thing called The Fediverse (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fediverse). Or maybe you haven't - that's okay, too. What is it exactly? It's a super-network spanning across the World Wide Web, consisting of many spaces at once. Anybody can set up their own node and become part of the network, and many nodes within it are open for public registration.

It's not just restricted to one platform either. If you're on Mastodon, you can talk to your friends who use GNU Social, Pleroma, Friendica, Hubzilla, or postActiv, and your timeline will act as if you were all in one place.
