For any keen golfer hitting the perfect drive, iron approach or pitch is one of the sweetest things a great game of golf can bring. With our 10-step guide to improving all elements of your golf game, you 'll be driving like Duvall and placing like Poulter in no time!

To really enjoy your spin, the center of the fairway or green is where you want to be. Unfortunately, just as common , if not more, is the immense frustration that a hooked, over-the-top, or scuffed punch can cause. No one likes spending their time trudging through the rough or bunkers looking for their ball, let alone at a world class resort. To help you move forward, we've rounded up 10 expert tips to help get you back on track.

  1. Posture Before Hitting the Ball Before you even think about hitting the ball off the tee, there are a lot of things that need to be done right to give you the best chance of getting the ball where you want it ILGB TFF. The width of the stance, the distance between the stick and the body, the bend in the knees and overall posture play a role. Too much or too little of any of them and you 'll end up spending more time on the rough stuff than you'd like.

  2. Ball Position In Your Attitude what stage in your swing the ball is hit is as important as the swing itself. A perfect swing with the ball too far forward will result in the stick not making meaningful contact, too far back and you won't get the loft that you need. As a rule, the ball should be closer to your forefoot when using the driver, and more central when using your iron.

  3. Bow Your Head The temptation to follow your ball down the fairway almost before you hit it is strong, but keeping your eyes on the ball until your follow-through is over is very important. Move your head too early, and all the hard work on your posture and swing to that point will likely be for nothing.

  4. Rotate Your Body, Not Just Your Arms It seems pretty obvious that a good golf swing generates power from the entire body, not from a stiff torso with arms doing all the work, but inadequate body rotation is a major cause of an inefficient golf swing. To get the extra yards that will give you the opportunity for that par 5 birdie, you 'll need your left shoulder to roll almost over your right foot on the backswing, and vice versa on the downswing. Do this, and you 'll be on the surface in no time.

  5. Master the Art of Throwing Getting within striking distance of the green is only worth so much if you then spend the next 4 shots either crossing the green with too much force, or dropping down with too little. Chipping art and swing is very different from driving off a tee or with an iron from a fairway. San Deep Industries The 2 big differences are that your club cannot be above parallel to the ground in a backswing, and your hands must always be in front of the ball and club.

  6. Develop a Routine for Placing “Drive for show, put for dough” is one of golf's oft-repeated adages, and it's true! Approaching the hole, nervousness and many other factors can make the greatest players observant. One way to minimize this is to create a nipple routine that works for you. Whether it's breathing patterns, practicing swings or visualizing punches, find a routine that works and use it every time. Remember, when it comes to placing, there's no substitute for practice, practice and more practice!

  7. Prepare For The Worst & Main Bunker Shot Ideally it wo n't , but realistically, especially on Scotland's rougher links trails, there's a good chance you'll find yourself in a sandy predicament at least once or twice. A few simple tips will increase the accuracy of getting out of the sand. First, never hit the ball first. Aim within inches of the ball to avoid overshooting the target and possibly ending up with another bunker shot! Second, keep your weight on the front foot throughout the swing and your left arm straight. Then watch the sand and your ball gracefully float out of that bunker!

  8. Note Your Weaknesses Whether you play every day, every weekend, or just occasionally, if you want to see improvement over time, you have to track your performance lap by lap to find out what needs the most work. How many fairways did you hit off the tee, how many greens-in-regulation did you get, or how many times did you take 2, 3 or more putts after you went on the green? Christian Reunion All statistics matter, and they need to be recorded and your overall score to get better over time.

  9. Don't Underestimate Follow Up A good golf swing, no matter what the shot, doesn't stop once you hit the ball. A good follow-up, with your hand ending over your left shoulder, and your right shoulder under your left means you've hit the ball well, in the direction you want it to go. A low hand and right shoulder that's no lower than your left usually indicates a malfunctioning element of your swing, meaning a less-than-perfect connection between the club and the ball.

of Railroad Tracks This analogy works for the pros, so why shouldn't it work for you. The best sticks and smoothest swings all amount to nothing if you orient your body to the ball incorrectly. For almost every shot, remember this one golden rule. Imagine that your foot is on one railroad track , and the ball is on the other. Tilt your body, and therefore this "train path" in the direction where you want to hit the ball, and keep your feet parallel to the line of the ball. No facing toward or away, or hoping to get out of the gardening tool to dig your balls out of the rough!
