According to the arbitration court, 4,895 lawsuits were filed against the two largest marketplaces during their operation, Vedomosti reports, referring to data from the file of arbitration cases (KAD). Moreover, 87.6% of this number of lawsuits have been filed in the last three years.

According to the CAD data:

• #Wildberries was a defendant in 3,518 arbitration cases and 3,281 lawsuits were filed from 2021 to 2023. In 2021, 271 lawsuits were filed against the company, in 2022 — 717 (160% more), in 2023 — 2,293 (220% more).

• #Ozon has received 877 lawsuits in arbitration courts for all time, it follows from the Code. The last three years accounted for 669 of them: 109 lawsuits in 2021, 165 in 2022 (+50%), 395 in 2023 (+140%).

Peter Shelits, Chairman of the Consumer Union of Russia, notes that the amount of claims against marketplaces is growing faster than their turnover. In the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the increase in the number of disputes between marketplaces, sellers and PVZ owners is associated with the rapid growth of the Russian e-commerce market. The amounts of claims are often small for the market — in the amount of tens or hundreds of thousands of rubles. According to lawyers, Ozon has had a little more than 10 cases in its history with claims of more than 10 million rubles, in which the company acted as a defendant, Wildberries — about 100. https://mpgo.ru/news/novosti-industrii/za_tri_goda_k_wildberries_i_ozon_podano_pochti_5000_iskov/
