Tweet ShareHacking and information session at Dasher and Crank craft ice cream shop (Yoko Matcha also currently on-premises with matcha and coffee creations). Come thru to work on a project, ask questions about libre stuff, or just eat an irresponsible amount of ice cream (no judgments here).
Saturday, 1pm – 3pm
2211 NW 2nd Ave, Miami, FL 33127
(305) 213-1569
Art Walk is also the second Saturday of the month, so you might decide stick around to stretch your legs a bit after the meeting. Later is also the usual (and unusual) nightlife.
Directions
-
Take 195 east from I-95
-
Take exit 2a and make a right to go south on Miami Ave
-
Make a right to go west on NW 29th St
-
Make a left to go south on NW 2nd Ave, you're in the area
-
Dasher and Crank is on the east side of NW 2nd Ave (the Wynwood main vein), just north of 22nd St.
Parking
-
Street parking is mostly pay by phone, which requires either being able to call the toll free number to pay or using a proprietary app. Parking enforcement likely gets alerted as soon as your time is up. You might find this article by Daniel Rivero interesting.
-
That said, there is at least one street meter on the main vein.
-
If you opt for one of the lots, be sure to pay for enough time, put in your license plate # correctly AND ALSO put your ticket in the dash or YOU WILL GET TOWED.
-
Most convenient and without freedom issues is The Wynwood Garage, entrance on NW 26th St just west of NW 3rd Ave. It's $3 the first hour, and then $3 every half hour. You can settle up with cash in the elevator room.
Transit
-
Metrobus 2 and City of Miami Trolley Wynwood stop right in front of the shop
-
The Metrobus 9/10 stops a few blocks east on NE 2nd Ave
-
The Metrobus 3, 16, and the City of Miami Trolley Biscayne stop another block over on Biscayne Blvd
Hot Tips
-
Yellow cabs will drive up the main vein if you need one.
-
If you don't mind going a literal block outside of the fancy area, on NW 30th St x 2nd Ave, west side, there's a bodega with cheap junk food, drinks and stuff you might need in a pinch. There's also a bitcoin ATM (untested). Pay cash.
