NDS ROMS games are some of the most popular handheld games available. Thanks to their portability and wide selection of titles, they're perfect for gaming on the go. But did you know that you can also play NDS ROMS games on your PC? Here's how.

Emulators

In order to play NDS ROMS games on your PC, you'll need to download an emulator. An emulator is a piece of software that allows you to run a different system's software on your own machine. In this case, you'll need an emulator that can run Nintendo DS games. There are a few different options available, but we recommend DeSmuME. It's free, open source, and relatively easy to use. Once you've downloaded DeSmuME, double-click the installer file and follow the on-screen instructions to install it on your PC.

ROMs

Once you have an emulator installed, you'll need to obtain some game files. These files are called ROMs, and they contain all of the data from a game cartridge. You can find ROMs for a wide variety of games online; however, we recommend only downloadingROMs for games that you already own. That way, you're not violating any copyright laws. Once you have your desired ROM files downloaded, move them into the same folder as your emulator program for easy access later.

Playing Games

Now that you have everything set up, it's time to start playing! Open up your emulator and click File > Open in the menu bar at the top of the window. From here, navigate to the folder where you saved your ROM files and select the one you want to play. The game should now load in the emulator window and be ready to play! If you want to save your progress at any point, just click File > Save State in the menu bar. When you're ready to pick up where you left off later, click File > Load State and select your saved file.

Conclusion

With an emulator and some game files, you can easily play NDS ROMS games on your PC! Although it takes a little bit of effort to set everything up at first, it's well worth it in the end—especially if you want to play those classic games without lugging around a handheld console everywhere you go.
