Bill Johnson - Microsoft Azure Running SRE

Abstract: I've been working on SRE-like stuff for over 10 years but I've been a runner for over 30 years. In that time, I've found many similarities in running a successful service at scale to distance running and other endurance events. Seeing and understanding these similarities has given me a better perspective on both running a service and running on my feet. The goal of this talk will be to provide the specific examples and framework I use to help bring some new angles of understanding SRE concepts both to technical and non-technical challenges

John Harris - VMware Deploying & Managing Kubernetes with Kubernetes

Abstract: Kubernetes has a rich set of declarative APIs and an extension mechanism for adding custom functionality. What if we combined the two to use Kubernetes to configure, deploy and manage the lifecycle of additional Kubernetes clusters? In this talk I'll introduce, discuss and demo the 'Cluster API' (CAPI) project and why it's the future of Kubernetes cluster management.

There will be food and drink provided by sponsors--more information on food as the meetup draws near.
