GM Andy: DCC

I will be running a 0-level Dungeon Crawl Classics funnel. For those who have never played, DCC is similar to D&D, with some fun differences. For one, character creation is part of the game. At this session, each player rolls up four 0-level villagers and control all of them during the game. Most of them will not be ready for the dangers ahead and they will not make it. The characters that remain will be forever changed by the events they survived and will become heroes who continue their adventures.

Quick-start rules are available for download here: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1Q7G6sE3YB3ugA6dHYG5bmErLPUN3Mtxr

But really, for this first game you will not need to know many rules. Tell me what you want to do and I will let you know what number to beat on a d20, just like D&D.

I look forward to seeing you there!

Note: $2 fee per person goes to the store for letting us play there.

Thanks for prepping the next game AND pinging us about it! The boys are voting 5e b/c of "gory violence" in DCC; leaving gore aside, they are split with one leaning slightly toward trying DCC and the other leaning toward 5e. I'm leaning 5e but that is all I know! so grain of salt there.

Yeah, it's probably no more violent than D&D can be (I mean, torn off faces, a cloak of those faces, etc.) :), but I am good with either. 5e may be more focused on fair but difficult challenges for the players, while DCC is more freedom of choice, including freedom to unwisely go up against some very dangerous enemies.

I dont know how to work this thing so i’ll hijack Andy’s event :D. So, i have a couple of ideas for our little club and would like to run them by you. Send me an email to gmapu@out Look.com to start the conversation.

I also added a comments section "event" if that helps to have a place to discuss things.

Andy: thanks so much for lending us the DCC book! We are happily expanding our (frankly quite limited) RPG knowledge-base!

Ana: You're welcome. If you or the boys have any questions, let me know.

I’m sorry to everyone for missing the new game yesterday! I will try to make it next week and be a late comer to the adventuring team. Did you do dungeon crawl?

Logan: We did play DCC and I hope you can make it next week.
