Boston Community Ownership Lab

The prevailing systems of control and distribution in this country are not working. Wealth is concentrated as unequally as it was in the gilded age. American electoral democracy is badly broken. Huge corporations are gaining unprecedented insights to our personal lives through surveillance. Entire neighborhoods are being demolished to make room for luxury apartments and shopping malls. The prevailing political-economic climate can be very bleak.

While resistance is important, and we do that when we can, building alternatives is equally urgent. We engage in cooperative design, development, and ownership of common resources in order to transcend the harmful matrix of domination that has kept us isolated, exploited, surveilled, and deceived about our true potential.
