Remote Technologies and COVID-19
We've been informed that the Farmington Community Library will be closed due to COVID-19 for the April and May meetings. But fear not. We're tech-savvy folks! We'll figure out how to make this work. The April 14th MUG meeting will still take place. We're going virtual during this time of crisis using Jitsi, an encrypted and open source video conferencing system.
The link for the meeting will be forthcoming. We'll post the link both in this meeting notice as well as on our announce and discuss mailing lists, Meetup, and GetTogether.community groups.
We'll be talking about online technologies. Craig Maloney will demonstrate how to set up a Jitsi server from scratch. We'll also have open discussion about the various ways we're keeping in contact with work, our families, and friends. We'll talk about the challenges we're facing, both as support staff, and developers.
We'll be both using Jitsi and Youtube for streaming so there are many ways you may participate. If you would like to be part of the conversation and have a webcam (and wish to be recorded) you may participate on the Jitsi link. If you would rather participate without a webcam you may view the stream on Youtube. We'll be monitoring the chat on IRC, Youtube, and Gitter.im.
