Regular MUG Meeting We meet at 6:30pm on the second Tuesday of each month at the Farmington Community Library.

Topics Include:

Machine Learning Workshop

You can't go anywhere online without running into Machine Learning and Deep Learning. Whether that's companies adding Machine Learning to help make better decisions, computers using Deep Learning for creating better predictions, or even recognizing different faces, Machine Learning and Deep Learning is quickly becoming an integral part of our daily lives.

This month we'll be diving into Machine Learning but with a twist. This month's presentation is workshop-based, so we'll be learning about Machine Learning together. (Learning about Machine Learning. How meta!)

This workshop will focus on overall Machine Learning (ML) and Deep Learning (DL) concepts. We will see the difference between ML and DL, understand different ML techniques with some examples.

We will then acquaint ourselves with Deep Learning techniques. We will look at, how DL takes inspiration from Biological brain and will dive into advanced DL technique called Generative Adversarial Neural Networks (GAN). We will run inference on a pretrained NVIDIA research model to generate super realistic human faces. URL: https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=94&v=kSLJriaOumA&feature=emb_logo

Most of the modules contains a Colab notebook. And since I work in computer vision, some of the example will dive into that.

A laptop/Computer (if you wish to run the notebooks along with me)

Since we will be using Google Colaboratory, it is highly recommended to have a Google email account with some space in google Drive.

Good internet Connection (since we will be connected to a container running on Google’s infrastructure)

Pranav Chokda will be leading the workshop. Pranav is a Deep Learning Engineering (Computer Vision) working at Zenuity, Inc. Pranav received a Master's Degree in Computer Engineering at Wayne State University in 2016.

Plus we'll have our regular features: Jobs Looking for People, People Looking for Jobs, and much more! We'll also be meeting for dinner at the Buddy's Pizza in Novi (44225 W 12 Mile Road, Novi, MI 48377) after the meeting.
