Matt Gallagher will host at 1400 Crystal Drive (suite 241), talking about Shell Scripting and Docker.

Best to wait out front of the building, since the front doors close at 6, then be led into the conference area. There is paid street parking all around.

Time:
June 23, 2022, 6 p.m. - June 23, 2022, 8 p.m.

What's the parking situation at that location?

It's basically surrounded by street parking on all sides, going around the corner, and nearby streets as well. Paid but not super expensive. There are a ton of garages up and down crystal ave as well, but they will be each different. Also, crystal city metro is 2 or 3 blocks south of the building (one street west of crystal ave, and 2 or so down.)

Thanks. Metro sounds close so I can go that way.

Well, I missed the location. I parked the car exactly where Google Maps told me "you've arrived" which, according to Google Maps on my phone, was exactly at 1411 Crystal Drive. Got out of the car, went straight into the lobby of 1400 and asked about this meetup and they told me there was only DeVry University there and they couldn't tell me where 1411 was, so then I started walking around, crossed the street, went around the circle, stopped a few passerby, they had no clue where 1411 was - which by the way, if you look at the announcement, top reads "1400..." and then in the body of the anouncement it reads "1411..." but logic tells me if the concierge at 1400 told me there was no gettogether meetup (she was kind enough to check the conference room when I returned an hour later, it was empty), then it must be 1411. So everyone I asked was as confused as I was when I asked them - went to a nearby apartment building within that circle and asked the two concierges there and they even told me it must be nearby - and showed me a picture of Google Street View and told me "it must be by the hotel" so I circled again...I probably spent 1 hour looking for it, then I got home and saw Matthew's message "if you miss us call at..." so it's too late. I probably missed yet another good presentation, sniff-sniff. Perhaps next time the directions will be a bit clear(er) or someone would serve as a guide until we get used to the new location. Oh, yes, I tried underground parking, so so crammed, plus gov't offices with their security ramps and fences, what a mess...I got out of there as soon as I could to find a more relaxed parking situation on the street. Meant to pay the $3.48 they were going to charge me for the max. allotted time of 1 hr & 43 min (according to the app couldn't go longer than that) but balked at paying it when prompted to pay via credit card (thought I'd pay after reaching you all's meeting - but guess what, I never did) and when I came to the realization that I was going in cricles trying to find you guys - more incentive to delay paying for the parking. So I left without paying. Didn't think to check the Gettogether account to login and stuff. Oh well, at least Amazon Fresh and other cafes are out there so I must've enjoyed the long walk from 1200 block to 1600 block back and forth. Nice area, but confusing as heck to get around - even for the neighbors.

1400 or 1411 (to be or not to be, 'tis the question)
